The Volunteer Center of the Virginia Peninsula has been a wonderful support for Professional golf at Kingsmill. Over the last 16 years, they have provided volunteers to assist with both the PGA and LPGA Tour events. The tournament relies on organizations such as The Volunteer Center to assist us in being voted the “Best Event on Tour” by both the players and the LPGA fans. With The Volunteer Center’s support, the tournament has been able to provide over $4.5 million to local charities over the past years.

Congratulation to The Volunteer Center for being selected as the winner for the 2008 Keep Coliseum Central Beautiful Award. The Volunteer Center successfully recruited more than 100 volunteers for each of our six Community Clean Up Days in 2008. In addition, volunteers formed the “Holiday Parade Trash Brigade” to pick up litter after the holiday parade.

The Volunteer Center support for the Neighborhoods, USA Conference made the difference between “Just another great conference” and “An overwhelming Successful Conference!” We received accolades from across the country about the Host City volunteers. Staff and volunteers scored the highest rating on our overall conference evaluation. As the Director of The Volunteer Center, Carolyn Kincaid has demonstrated a strong commitment and dedication to supporting partnerships of the Hampton Neighborhood Initiative.
