New Military Initiative

The Volunteer Center of the Virginia Peninsula is partnering with local military bases on a TEAM initiative. TEAM leaders are identified and groups of military volunteers are recruited to assist local nonprofits, governments, schools and faith based programs.

Military volunteers engage in diverse volunteer projects impacting the Virginia Peninsula through significant or exemplary volunteer service.

TEAM leaders assist The Volunteer Center in tracking and collecting valuable data to be used by local nonprofits to leverage funding for their programs. TEAM leaders also promote volunteerism among the troops, providing an opportunity for those away from home to connect to the community, "their home away from home." Certificates/Letters of commendation are available upon request. Build your portfolio by assisting the community.
